Navigo customer configuration
Custom configuration of Navigo includes work related to APIs for system interfacing, programming custom reports, defining custom fields and approval templates, document templates, and editing print output. All of these settings require the work of a specialist and are governed by Terms and Conditions 2.
What is included in customer configurations?
Preparatory work for connecting systems via API
Navigo3 offers an API for connecting different company systems.
If you will be creating an integration in-house or with a third party, we will need to set up API accesses on our side according to your individual needs.
In order for you to use our APIs, it is necessary for us to agree on how to use them.
Reports
In Navigo we can set up special reports that allow you to export data according to your specifications in the form of an excel table.
We recommend to use these reports when some specific combinations of data and information are very important for you and Navigo does not allow to display them within its standard functionality.
We will always help you evaluate this before deciding to configure a report.
Edit print output
This is the ability to have a bespoke print output template created for invoices and purchase orders so that everything you want is printed on them and your company output is uniform. For example, you can automatically have your stamp, signature, a certain font or standardised text information on invoices and orders.
Document templates
Thanks to these templates, you can pre-populate your documents with specific data from Navigo and your documents will have a standardized appearance.
This will save you the trouble of rewriting them repeatedly. This includes, for example, the pre-filling of cover sheet headers, contract evaluations or documents for archiving. You can use these templates if you have a large number of documents or if you have a large number of people working on your orders and you need to make their work easier.
At the same time, you will be sure that your documents have a uniform style.
Custom fields
Custom fields allow you to record information in specific places in Navigo where there is no standard space for your data.
Custom fields can be placed next to a number of items, e.g.
For example, project, tasks, orders, clients, allocations, etc.
We will configure them in the database according to your requirements.
Approval templates
Approval templates allow you to set up a virtual approval process for specific types of objects (projects, attachments, images) depending on your individual requirements.
How long will the whole process take?
It will always depend on the scope of the assignment and the types of outputs you require. You can usually expect to work for a few weeks, or at most months. To speed things up, it is possible to work on a custom configuration at the same time as preparing the connection of your company systems with Navigo or on a one-time transfer of your data to Navigo.
Process for customer configurations
Please refer to Terms and Conditions 2 for a detailed procedure on how the configuration process works. Here we will only mention specific information that relates to customer configuration beyond the usual process.
Step 1 – Basic Consultation
First, our consultant will discuss the plan with you in general terms. We will evaluate your ideas, technical possibilities, price requirements and time budget. We will help you evaluate whether and which of the possible solutions is suitable and worthwhile for you.
Step 2 – Analysis before customer configuration
As part of the analysis, we will evaluate in detail how you need to use our API or how we can create a report from the data you have entered in Navigo. In the case of document templates or editing printouts, we’ll want to see what your current documents look like, find out what you envision your documents and printouts should look like, and what all they should contain. For approval templates, we then usually lay out the process by which the approval is set up. In the case of a custom field, we define where and how it should be placed and what it should be used for.
Step 3 – Programming work
Afterwards, the configuration in the database and testing will take place – we will repeatedly test how the reports work, how the print outputs look like, how the documents are completed and whether the approval process runs according to the specifications.
Caution – do not consider reports generated during testing to be relevant until we have definitively confirmed the correctness of the configuration.
How much does a custom configuration cost?
We measure work in the so-called. person (MD). One MD represents one person’s work for eight hours. The hourly rate is based on the current price list on the website www.navigo3.com. The price is without value added tax.
Depending on the scope of the programmer’s and analyst’s work, the price for reports, document templates and editing of printouts ranges from 0.25 MD to 2 MD, exceptionally more. In the case of approval templates or custom fields, depending on the scope, we are usually in the higher units of thousands of crowns. Preparation for using the API is charged by the hour.
It must be taken into account that various changes may occur that will affect the existing configuration. These are various changes on your side, but occasionally they will be made on the Navigo side. Adjustments will need to be made and paid for to keep your configuration working properly.
